Life & Times: Updates From The Abyss

As you may have noticed in my last post, I never quite forget about this here blog. I love writing, and when I don’t write, I miss it.

The thing is, though, that I don’t realise I miss it… and then I put it off for all of eternity & it just never happens.

I’ve written about previous struggles on here before—often pinning it on a personality type, and opening up more virtually than I ever would IRL. And recently, oddly enough, after a psychology degree, lifelong interest in human behaviour and a few little closer inspections of certain patterns, I think I’ve stumbled upon something that is eerily accurate…

But I’m not quite ready to talk about it! #tease

Needless to say, it relates to my habit to start things but not quite finish them; to commit to something & then to just kinda disappear… and to forgetting a whole lotta stuff day-to-day.

The point of this post, however, wasn’t to reveal or semi-reveal some deep-seated piece of information about myself; instead, it was to revive this lil’ bloggy and to post more often… even without photos.

That’s probably/definitely the thing that slows me down and stops me from posting on here. Writing is easy for me; I’m currently banging this out at 500mph and it feels like a cinch. No sweat. But the rigamarole of image-taking just gets me and bores me to no end. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll do it for the gram (occasionally), and can stand an editing app for a minute or two… but it does slow me down a lot.

So, I thought I’d try just write a stream of consciousness of sorts, whatever comes to mind, to try and track my day-to-day, beauty bits n’ bobs, ~interesting~ thoughts, travel (hopefully), food (definitely)… and try to do it consistently. One of my goals for this year was to read more, for instance, and so far I’ve completed a whole one book. So I got some work to do!

A few things I’ve wanted to write about on here recently:

  • I’m currently in the midst of a 90’s sitcom roll. I’d started on Friends but recently moved onto Will & Grace—underrated, non?
  • It’s been so cold here recently (last night was a cool 4 degrees—celsius), and I’ve been eating my body weight in carbs ever since. It’s a vibe!
  • I’ve been loving the Son & Park Beauty Water. After we took a little vacay to Brisbane, my skin “cracked it” and was super sensitive and reactive. I think there was a product which triggered it, but it also could have been a few other factors. Anyway, the Beauty Water is basically what it says it is… a super thin, water-like toner which really preps my skin for the next steps.
  • On that note… since I had the skin-a-geddon, I’ve been a bit more careful & picky about what constitutes my routine. I’m always tempted by novelty, but right now I’ve got something simple going on which hopefully I’ll write about soon!

That’s about it for now, I’m about to head to bed on this freezing night… look for more updates again soon!
