This year has brought a lot of challenges, new experiences — and masks. So many masks. If you’re anything like me, you have an underlying urge to stick it to the man and not wear one, but you do, but you make them disposable for convenience. Then when the public shaming begins, eventually you cop a few locally made, “pretty” masks to normalise a pandemic and comply with the status quo (or is this just me?!).

But if you’re really smart, you pick up a Wishtrend Organic Hemp Mask & call it a day.

I was kindly sent the new hemp mask directly from Wishtrend in Korea, and when I received it, I was running low on my disposable masks and my patience. They kinda go hand in hand. You know when you just want to pop outside, you’re finally ready to go after getting your millions of bits n’ bobs together (again, perhaps just me — but apparently I have a list of requirements for leaving the house)… and then your exciting plans are stalled when you get 50m down the road and realise you’re maskless. And shameless. But you also don’t want to be picked up by the cops, soooo… you go back home to get your mask.

(Can you tell this has happened to me many times? Actually, since it’s technically not legal, this is completely hypothetical.)

As you’ll see in these sassy pics, this cute lil’ mask is (off) white and black, and sweet all over. It’s made from the softest material, and I do like that it’s organic, seeing as I tend to breathe in a lot of my masks over the course of a day/an hour. It’s made of 55% hemp which provides the softness but also durability, and it is also UV resistant and antibacterial, to boot. Win win!

I also had an issue with a handmade one where the elastic was too tight for my face, so it would bring my ears forward and it was just not comfortable in any way. This one doesn’t do that! It’s super comfortable, soft, breathable, and goes with everything.

One thing I will say about this mask is that, if you run hot like I do, it can get a little toasty on my face. But all my masks tend to do that — it is cloth on your face, after all. I remember the days in Korea when face masks were optional, and exciting, and quirky… sigh. Now that they’re mandated, all I want to do is run free without one, but if you’re going to wear one… this is a goodie.

I have carried this little cutie around with me in my handbag for a few months now, and it’s come in handy many times. Again, the material! The disposable ones do have a bit of a chemical scent to them, plus they remind me of hospitals which is never a good thing. But some of the pretty printed ones can be a bit too intense in their designs, so I find this to be a great medium. Subtle and also kinda… chic? Never thought I’d say that about a mask, but here we are!

If you’re interested in picking one of these cuties up for yourself, you can get it from Wishtrend here and take 15% off with my code STEPHANIE15 (ends 30th October! I will say that Wishtrend’s shipping is unparalleled: the speed of the deliveries always astounds me, especially as they come all the way from Korea. Quite superior if you ask me!

That’s it for today’s mask reviews, I doubt there will be any more of these in the future… but then, with this mask, there doesn’t have to be! Thanks to Wishtrend again for providing this — I’ve put it to a lot of use & it’s really held up throughout this time (and it is a relief that something has!).

Have you tried this mask, or any other ones you’d recommend? Are you over it? Is the world ending? Let me know your thoughts below!
