Remember when we used to be able to travel? Ah, what a life. A luxury! And even though we knew it at the time, there is nothing like a global pandemic and complete shut down of country’s borders to instil gratitude in a gal.

Whilst I’ve been reminiscing, it occurred to me that I had a little Glossier parcel that has been sitting & waiting for me to delve into it. Yes, I left a sealed Glossier bag unopened & didn’t even blink twice. I know, who even am I?!

I’ve written previously about Glossier and in the year-and-a-half since, I’ve gone through waves with the brand. Periods of love, perhaps obsession, and never hate, but perhaps indifference (or forgetfulness).

The products that really stuck with me, in phases, were the Lidstar (my fave shade was Lily) Glossier Skin Tint, and their iconic Boy Brow. Although I’m not one whose brows needs much taming, I still like to run the little spoolie through them to keep them tidy.

I especially like the Clear version (can’t go wrong there!) but also enjoyed the Blonde version (there wasn’t a redhead one at the time, and anyway that can go pretty *hairy* so to speak… so I find it better to err on the side of lightness rather than going for the werewolf look, although that is too a vibe).

I decided to top up on the Skin Tint, and picked it up in G11.

I previously owned the Skin Tint in Fair—when they were first released, there was a very limited range of about 5 shades, I believe. Not great. I got the lightest one, and while I am a YT (whitey, new internet phrase I picked up recently, not YouTube), it would often wash me out just a tad.

So as I mentioned, I got my paws on the Skin Tint in G11 in the new range, and find this a much easier/more flattering match. Perhaps a *tad* tan on my skin, but definitely workable. And seeing as Glossier is unavailable in Australia (unless you’re a fiend like me and get a US forwarding address to feed your addiction), I’ll make it work!

If you know the Skin Tint, you’ll know that you need to be having a pretty darn good skin day to wear it solo… and whether it actually does anything is often up for debate. I find it gives a nice lil’ glow to the skin, and smooths things over in a barely-noticeable way. But it’s perfect for that no-makeup feeling!

Now, onto the balms! For some reason, I’ve recently misplaced my 7384738247097923 tubes of Lucas’ Papaw Ointment— the OG lip balm I’ve had since I was in Grade 5, way before it was cool or even in tube form… I just carried the giant tub around in my schoolbag (true story).

Anyway, I can’t seem to find any of them, so was relieved when I realised I’d ordered a few more Balm Dot Com‘s. Namely the Berry and Mango versions. I cracked open the Mango one the other day, and let me tell you, I was transported to the tropics! For a gal who can’t leave her house right now, this was particularly thrilling!

I also recently discovered a Coconut Balm Dot Com in my bathroom drawers (lol, yes I have a problem and am working thru it ok), and looove that tropical scent. I previously got into the Birthday version, which has a yummy vanilla scent but the sparkles make it grittier which kind of defeats the purpose of a balm for me.

I also ordered the Milky Oil, which I totally forgot I was excited about! This is what my life has come to, lol. I just recently wrote about how I finished the iconic Garnier Micellar Water, and am really into simple waters right now, both as cleansers and in my moisturising routine (currently using the Son & Park Beauty Water and loving it).

Of course, I have gone through cleansing oils in the past—they’re an important part of the Korean beauty routine, after all— but recently have been opting for lighter products, and have not been wearing much makeup anyway (or going outside at all). But I am hype to try this one sometime soon! Maybe tonight? Will keep y’all posted.

One product I was unable to get my hands on was the Futuredew; a befuddling product which I’m at once unsure of and completely intrigued by. Is it skincare? Is it makeup? Who knows, who cares, gimme dat dew. This one was unfortunately sold out when we were visiting NYC, thus it evaded my clutches… this time.

And just for lol’s, here’s a lil’ selfie I took with a full face of Glossier (is that an oxymoron?!):

If you’re interested, what’s on my face is listed below:

Eyes: Lidstar in Lily
Eyebrows: Boy Brow in Clear
Face: Skin Tint in G11
Lips: Generation G Lipstick in Cake + Balm Dot Com in Mango
Highlight: Haloscope in Quartz
(Only thing non-Glossier is mascara: used Benefit’s BadGalBANG! (I have the mini) because I couldn’t find my Lash Slick… #mariekondo)

And so that’s where I left it! Quite a restrained little haul if you ask me; I could have definitely done a lot more damage, set free in the Glossier flagship store in New York. What a privilege to be there, especially looking back now… at least we have the memories!

Have you tried anything new from Glossier recently? Go on, enable me!
