Today has just been one of those days: I’m a bit sick, feeling sorry for myself and decided to make it all better by watching Mean Girls. You’ll be happy to know it worked. You go, Glen Coco!
Another thing that Sunday signifies (apart from the holy day of rest) is that it’s time to rummage through my samples and give y’all a rundown! I actually start work at my new job tomorrow which is very exciting, so I’ll keep you posted on all that. But rest assured that I will be keeping up my blogging schedule, as I’m really feeling the blogging mojo at the moment!
So get in loser, we’re going shopping let’s get started!
illi Total Aging Cleansing Oil
I really love this stuff (plus the bottle is just so cute). I’ve been using this a lot recently and it’s great for removing makeup. I mean, cleansing oils in general are amazing, but this was just a pleasure to use. It wasn’t too heavy, it smelt nice and it just did the job really well – and as someone with the most sensitive eyes in the world, this is saying a lot.
I received this in a Memebox and would consider purchasing the full size. I know that illi is becoming a bit more well-known round the blogosphere, and the few things that I have tried, I’ve enjoyed. Thumbs up from me!
Malin + Goetz Neroli Hand and Body Lotion
I can’t even remember where I received this sample from, although I have a feeling it was in Apgujeong, Seoul. This is a bit of a fancy brand (I have slowly but surely learned) and I have acquired more of their products in recent weeks. More on that later! This one wasn’t remarkable to me, and it didn’t do anything to wow me. I mean, it did its job, but yep… that’s about it.
L’Occitane Angelica Ultra Matte Fluid
The humidity of Malaysia can really get to me and my skin, and I’m still learning about finding the right products for this heat. Still a work in progress. I was curious to try this product (one that I had hoarded for a long time) because it would definitely fit the bill. I did find that it was lightweight on my skin and it blended nicely upon application. For some reason, it didn’t lure me in, and I don’t think it’s the one for me. There wasn’t actually much in the sample, which could have had something to do with it. Either way, it was nice while it lasted, but probably not again!
L’Oreal HydraFresh Aqua Essence
I used this in Langkawi, as I like taking samples when I travel (makees me feel super economical and enviro-friendly when I’m on that big jet plane). I feel like L’Oreal’s jumping on the bandwagon with the whole Korean skincare thing, but y’know… if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em! My skin liked this product, as it absorbs easily but still provides a fair level of hydration. Something about the L’Oreal brand seems so heartless to me though… so yes, the product was good, but again, I probably wouldn’t purchase this myself!
Aesop Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Facial Toner
A-ha! Here we go, something I can rave about once more! This sample I received when I had a little shopping binge at Aesop in Bangsar Village, and I really like it. I like toners in general (they may just be my favourite step in my Korean skincare routine…) and this one I find not too sticky, not too heavy, juuuust right. You know I’m biased when it comes to Aesop, but at least I’m honest about it!
That’s it for today! I have some exciting things (*cough* REVIEWS) coming up soon, so keep an eye out for that! I hope you all had a lovely weekend and I’ll see y’all real soon 🙂
