Hi friends,
Sample Sundays is back with a vengeance. I haven’t finished up too many samples recently, which is a bit of a shame because my cupboards are bursting with them, but I’ll show y’all what I’ve got anyway! A couple of newbies and a few old faves, so strap yourselves in and get ready for FUN! So much FUN!
Skinfood Black Pomegranate Serum
I received this sample a while ago, and it is part of their delicious Black Pomegranate Range. Thus, it smells amazing. I believe that you are supposed to mix this with some other product to create an essence concoction of dreams, but I just received this one, so that didn’t happen. Anyway, I just used this as an essence and it was very nice. It moisturised well, and did I mention it smells amazing?
Lux High Shine Shampoo
I picked this sample up a while ago in Japan, and because I always finish conditioner quicker than shampoo, this one just hung around like a bad smell (except it smells lovely and clean and shampoo-y). To be honest, I would just use this to wash my fringe (yes, this is a thing) and it did the job. I used it a few times on my hair and it didn’t have any problematic side effects, which is a win in my books!
CHI (Catatonic Hydration Interlink) Keratin Shampoo and Keratin Conditioner
What a weird name for a brand! If you can get past it, however, these products are very nice. As I have mentioned previously, I have very sensitive skin and scalp (sexy) and so it can be difficult for me to try new things. This also means that if something doesn’t break me out or completely ruin my face, it is a certified awesome product. This shampoo and conditioner set falls into the latter category. Plus, I received them in my amazing goodie bag in Sinsa. What’s not to love?
Nature Republic Snail Solution Skin 90 Booster
As y’all already know, I love this line. It can do no wrong in my eyes (except if it stopped testing on animals). This smells amazing and I love how moisturised it leave my skin. I use this as a toner (not quite sure of the role of a “skin booster” but I’ll go with it) and it works really nicely with my skin. This especially comes into its own in winter, when my skin is a dry, barren mess (aka now). Love.
Nature Republic Whitening Collagen Dream 80 Essence
I have had this sample for quite a while and I don’t think this line is available anymore… but still, worth a shot! I don’t find any of Korea’s “whitening” products to actually whiten my skin (as if that’s even possible) – instead, they are supposed to bring out a “glow” that you have been too lazy to achieve by eating vegetables and drinking adequate amounts of water. I’m not 100% sure if it did this, but it did moisturise my skin nicely and there were no adverse affects, sooo I’m one happy clam.
Nature Republic Collagen Dream 70 Emulsion
I received these samples ages ago as well (because I haven’t been cosmetics shopping since June this year) and I held onto it for a while because I thought this was a bit fancy, or something. Not 100% sure. Anyway, I’ve finally used it and I love this stuff! It smells so delicious, like you’re applying fabric softener directly onto your face. MmMmM. Again, I don’t think this line is available anymore, but here’s hoping it is because this stuff is amazing. So soft and gentle, I can just feel the collagen being directly absorbed into my wrinkles (not).
Skinfood Tomato Whitening Essence
The whitening products of South Korea strike again, and yet there is still no visible difference to be seen. This Tomato range by Skinfood sounds incredibly odd but is actually one of their “higher end”, “fancier” lines (at least I think). My threshold for fancy is pretty low (ie. if I have to put on pants, it means I’m getting “fancy”) so make of that what you will. This doesn’t smell like tomato, so don’t be scurred. It’s a pleasant, gentle essence and I enjoyed using this at no expense to myself.
Laneige Water Bank Essence – previously reviewed here
Thanks for reading, I’ll be back tomorrow with a double Monday Vlog! Two weeks of madness squished into one video! What will happen? What will I eat? Will the answer to that question be “all the things”? (Hint: yes)
Until next time,
Steph x
I believe the skinfood black pome that you have is the serum one in the range. The full size product has a liquid in the bottle and the secret recipe in the cap that supposed to be mix before the first usage. I thought the sample will just the same, the liquid on the bottom and the powder in the cap section of the sample sachet, didn’t it?
I thought it would be too but I just got the serum! To be honest all of the labelling is in Korean so I *think* that’s what I got. A bit confused but still an enjoyable product ^^ I will have a sort through my stash and see if I have the other ingredient somewhere… stay tuned! 🙂
The best thing about your blog Steph, is that it gives me something to talk to chicks about.
Haha, oh Ben I’m always happy to help 😉
