Another Skinfood Obsession: Premium Lettuce & Cucumber Watery Emulsion

Y’all know I’ve raved about Skinfood before – and I’m here to do it again. This time, I’m talking about their Premium Lettuce & Cucumber Watery Emulsion, and you’re gonna wanna stick around for this, because it’s goooood.

I bought this on a whim a few weekends ago, when I was really missing Korea. I know I always seem to be missing Korea, but that’s because I actually am always missing Korea. Anyway, I had to think hard of something I actually don’t have (which is reeeeally difficult now that all my cosmetics arrived from when I moved out), and at the time, an emulsion was just that. Enter Skinfood!

I had seen this line a lot when I was back in Korea, as it launched during my time there. I guess this isn’t anything special, as all the Korean brands are launching a new line every 2 days (it seems), but I thought this sounded interesting (and delicious)! At the time, I was trying not to buy anything so I didn’t get involved… until now.

My favourite thing about this emulsion is the texture. I love it so much! As its name suggests, it’s a watery formula, and really lightweight. This is the perfect texture if you’re living in warm weather and tend to get real sweaty, real quick, like I do. This emulsion absorbs really quickly and also makes my skin feel so smooth and moisturised.

I also really like the scent of this emulsion, as it’s light and fresh and inoffensive. I have a few products that are heavily perfumed and that does put me off, but this one is pretty subtle and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin.

I feel like adding this into my skincare routine has really softened my skin and added a lot of nourishment, without adding too much oil or heaviness. It seems to settle things down and just lightly calm my skin. Considering the fact that I use about 3 other moisturising products every time I clean my face, plus I live in a really hot climate, this is really important to me.

I guess one slightly inconvenient thing is the packaging, as it is in a bottle with simple a hole at the top – no pump, no tube. This means you can’t completely control the amount you get, but as the texture is quite viscous, it always stays pretty neat. Honestly, this doesn’t really annoy me at all, and I’m stretching to find things I don’t like about this product! 😉

When I went to buy this, I was waiting to see what would go down in terms of samples. In Korea, it’s a given, but I don’t know what the deal is in Malaysia. Well, I waited until the last minute and nothing seemed to be eventuating, so I asked. You can ask for samples, y’all! This is what I received in return:

The sales assistant who served me at the register was really nice, and gave me 2x Premium Tomato Whitening Cream,  2x Premium Tomato Whitening Toner, 2x Agave Cactus Cream (Hydrating) and a sachet of the Egg White Pore Foam. This is a pretty good sample haul for one product – I was very impressed!

It also appears that Skinfood Malaysia has their own loyalty program, with different levels of gifts depending on how much you spend. The sales assistant also told me about this when I asked about the samples, so I’m not sure if they just give it out to everyone (although I think they should). You get one stamp for each RM20 you spend and also a bonus stamp to start you off. This product was approx. RM65, so I got 3 stamps:

All in all, I’m really happy with the Premium Cucumber & Lettuce Watery Emulsion and am glad I purchased it. Although I paid much more than I would in Korea, it’s nice to have it in my life – and my skin definitely loves it.

If you’re keen to try it too, I recommend checking it out here.

What Skinfood products are you loving? Let me know, I need more enabling (not)!

  1. This emulsion looks promising! I like the fact that at least 30% of it is comprised of vegetable extracts, haha. You can also search up local beauty site hermo.my which does sell this a lil cheaper in RM than the physical Skin Food store If you ever run out.

    1. Yeah I love this one! It’s so cooling and just calms everything down. I need all the help I can get in this Malaysian heat! And yep I actually had my first experience with hermo.my, blog post coming soon… 😉

  2. Hi Stephanie!
I just became interested in Korean Beauty products for skin care as I’m really trying to take care of blemishes and my overall skin. I recently bought the Shea Butter Emulsion and the Salmon Brightening Eye Cream from Skin Food and loved it!
Recently, I’ve been reading on their Coffee Scrub to reduce cellulite. I was wondering if this works for stretch marks and scars. Have you tried it? Thoughts or recommendations?
    Thanks so much! x.

    1. Hey Jade! Lovely to hear from you 🙂

Oooh I love the shea butter range from Skinfood… nice choice! I haven’t personally tried their coffee scrub, so I can’t comment on that one, but I did try one from Nature Republic that I loved.

I don’t usually see any visible results on stretchmarks (dang!), but scrubs definitely help to exfoliate and brighten the skin. As for scars, it could help, but I would also recommend using an oil, like Bio Oil, to help. But it all depends on the person!

Let me know how you go, I’d love to hear 🙂
