Hi friends!
So now that we are officially in November, the end of my contract is nigh. I never really thought this day would come (and it hasn’t yet…) but it’s certainly on its way. Which has got me thinking, what the heck am I going to do with all of my stuff? We are going to be moving (not 100% sure where yet but there is something in the works, details soon!) and so I definitely can’t bring all/most of it with me. Even though I have been on a decluttering rampage, I still have waaaay too many things for the average gal to hike across oceans in just a carry-on bag (that’s my dream, anyway). So, I thought I’d share with you my clutter clean out goals and deadline.
Official deadline: February 28 (end of contract)
By the end of the November…
I want to have shipped off all the parcels that I have waiting here. There’s quite a few things I have meant to send but haven’t yet, and it’s annoying me! And it’s no one else’s fault but my own. Sorting these out and sending them off will free up quite a lot of space in my area(s) of the house, so I’m excited about that.
By the end of December…
I will actually be coming home for December (yay!), so I want to have everything ready that I want to drop off in my over-filled room. This includes but is not limited to: unnecessary clothes, books, shoes. I don’t really want to take cosmetics just to have them sit there and go bad, so I’m trying to use them up/gift them/donate them before I leave.
By the end of January…
This is going to be crunch time, and I know there will be a lot going on around then, so I want to be ready. This includes getting rid of most of our kitchen stuff (our toaster and mini oven already has an assigned home, I just need to bring it to school to give to my friend… haven’t done it yet), furniture, extra towels, hairdryers (yes we have multiple hairdryers) and random bits and bobs that I have accumulated over the past 19 months. I want to be ready for February, because I know it is gonna go quickly!
So that is my rough plan and calendar for clearing out my stuff. I don’t want to assign anything to February because, as I said, there will already be enough to do without having the extra stress of uprooting my life (again). I’d like to be organised and low-fuss, so let’s see if I can stick to it!
I’ll keep you posted (so to speak)…
Until next time,
Steph x
