A little while ago, I was contacted by BB Cosmetic to try a few of their products. As I was scrolling through, I was delighted to see they stock the Berrisom Oops! My Lip Tint Pack, as I’d had my eye on them for a little while and was keen to give ’em a whirl.
I think my main inspiration was on Skin Full of Seoul‘s Instagram account, where she posts beautiful K-beauty pics for my eyes to feast on (and which make the pain of no longer living in Korea a little easier to bear). Whenever Katherine had these tints on her lip, there was always a soft, pretty hint of colour, but nothing too overwhelming — or dry-looking. This is where it started!
I cannot tell you how much I was looking forward to this parcel arriving — and despite some “issues” with the postal service here, I eventually had it in my hot little hands. Also, the fact that these are peel-off lip tints was another selling point for me.
In Korea, pretty much everything is innovative, unusual, and sometimes gimmicky… and I love it! They are all about the Next Big Thing, and so are constantly testing and trying things out in the market. It’s this sort of thinking which is responsible for BB creams, cushion foundations, and Honey Butter chips, so you know… #bowdown.
When I was in Korea, I was struck by how popular lip tints were. This was at the height of the gradient tint phenomenon (which is arguably still ongoing), whereby lip tint was ever-so-daintily applied to the inside of the lips, to give a doll-like look. As someone who has always been a fan of lip balm, I was tentative about how drying tints would be… but my curiosity pushed me to try them out regardless.
This set comes with 6 different shades — Lovely Peach, Vivid Scarlet, Pure Pink, Bubble Pink, Virgin Red, and Sexy Red. There’s pretty much something for everyone, and I have to say, these look a lot more intimidating in the tube than they actually do at the end.
When I first squeezed them out of the tube, I was quite hesitant, as I have pretty particular requirements when it comes to lip shades on my colouring. But I was pleasantly surprised!
Here’s a lil look at the jelly consistency and the colours, fresh out the tube:
The thing I feel I have to share about these lip tints: they ain’t the neatest to apply! In fact, things got a little messy when I was applying them for hte first time (and I got slightly better after that). They have a real jelly consistency, which is really fun and novel, butsort of sticky and difficult to manouvre, too. Of course, this is key because they are peel-off lip tints, but still… it takes some getting used to!
Also, the scent is quite unique, and may not be for everyone. I don’t mind it — it’s sort of a strong, fruity scent, and it wears off once you peel the tint off. But it’s worth mentioning.
To apply these, all you need to do is: prepare your lips, apply smoothly, wait approx. 10 mins, gently peel off. That’s it! Once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty simple to do, and I love the pigmented but soft colour they leave on the lips. My favourite would be the pink one (so obvious, lol), but there really is a great range in this set.
I was actually very impressed with the service and speed of BB Cosmetic. Notwithstanding any errors made by the Malaysian postal service, my parcel was shipped incredibly quickly and customer service was super responsive. I’m excited to see a new K-beauty stockist on the scene — there’s always room for more!
And now for the best part… BB Cosmetic have provided a coupon code just for my reader, to get 8% off ALL purchases before December 6. All you need to do is visit BBcosmetic.com, and then use my code T6481BD1J at the checkout. That’s it!
BB Cosmetic also provided me with another exciting product, which I’ll share with you in my next post… so stay tuned!
