A Few Delicious Face Shop Goodies

So recently I’ve been missing Korea… a lot. The energy, the food, the people… the beauty. Yes, Korea itself is beautiful, but right now I’m talking about the beauty stores and products which gloriously litter the streets and can be found EVERYWHERE. It’s a beautiful thing.

It’s not quite the same here in Malaysia. Yes, you can find quite a few Korean brands here, and more are coming all the time, but in Guri I could look out my window and literally see about 5 beauty stores — most of which would be having sales. Plus, they get all the latest stock and there’s just so many cute things and, oh… it’s just amazing.

So I’m seriously considering going back to Korea for a few days at the end of September. In fact, I’ve pretty much made up my mind, I just need to confirm and book it and do it. I’m so excited. It’s going to be amazing!

Because I’ve had Korea on my mind recently, I decided to pop into The Face Shop and pick up something. Even just buying a few little beauty products makes me feel just that bit closer to Korea — and that is a very good thing. I don’t know what it is exactly, but just being surrounded by these perfectly packaged, cutting edge products makes me feel good.

So what did I get?

The Face Shop's Rice Water Bright Cleansing Milk + Rice Mask

I’ve noticed this Rice Water Bright Cleaning Milk before, and I’ve really wanted to try it. I think it’s one of their signature products (I’m not quite as ‘in touch’ with K-beauty over here, but that’s my feeling) and I just think a rice milk cleanser sounds nice. Don’t you?

Keeping on with the rice theme (was I hungry? Probably), I decided to pick up a Rice Real Nature Mask. I love sheet masks, and although I don’t use them nearly enough, they just feel amazing when I do. There is something so calming and relaxing about them, aon top of the incredible moisturising properties they contain. After I use one, my skin always glows and I just feel very zen.

Another difference between Korea and Malaysia K-beauty stores? The samples. In Korea, I would leave with way too many samples when I went shopping, which I was slightly embarrassed by (but secretly loved), but over here… it’s just not like that. Both at Skinfood and at this Face Shop, I needed to ask nicely if they had any samples before I was given one set. In Korea, it’s assumed that you get samples (most of the time — if not, it’s super disappointing and not the norm).

Anyway, I did ask, and I was given a little set of The Therapy, containing the Essential Tonic Treatment and the Formula Emulsion. Apparently these are moisturising (and anti-ageing), so I’m keen to give these a go.

Overall, I feel much better having had a mini K-beauty haul. I am seriously so excited to go back and just buy EVERYTHING. I’m glad I’ve had some time away, because now I’m really going to appreciate it. I can’t wait to see my friends, the kids, eat the food… it will be amazing.

And I’ll keep you posted on how these products go! What have you been loving or hauling? Let me know in the comments 🙂
