Ready for another round of Sample Sundays? Leggo!
I was really thrilled to receive some Benton goodies in my W2Beauty parcel, because I had heard so much about the brand last year but never tried it. Of course, this was also mixed with apprehension, as my friend Sample Hime had a really bad experience with this product and some were found to be contaminated. So… there’s that. I actually was quite nervous to use it because of this, and I did inspect it thoroughly before applying. It has a nice consistency and applied easily, but to be honest, I really didn’t like the scent. I don’t know if it’s just that or my paranoia, but I wouldn’t buy this again.
Same same as above – super thrilled, slightly unsure. This product was all over the blogs last year, and I must say, the texture is pretty dreamy. As you can probably tell from the names, this line features a lot of bee venom and snail mucin, which is like the skincare A-team of the gods. Pretty amazing stuff. Again, the smell was unpleasant but not as much a deal breaker as it was for the essence. The bad news? My friend Elese had issues with this product, but the packaging has since changed which is probably the reason why. I’m really glad I tried this one, although I don’t like the is-it-or-isn’t-it-contaminated controversy around Benton. Although I preferred this product to the essence, I still don’t know what to think!
I had no idea what to do with this and initially had to Google it to find it. Turns out, it’s like a sleeping mask, so it’s got a super-thick consistency and is meant to seal all the moisture in your skin overnight. Well, it did just that! This does feel a bit heavy upon application, but I know that’s the whole point, so I ain’t mad. If you need a moisture boost, definitely give this a whirl. I really like what I’ve tried from the Watery Berry line (plus the name’s so cute), thumbs up from me!
Okay, I know you guys are gonna kill me for this… Dettol? Yep, and first let me state my case. This sample has been hanging around our house for so long, it was annoying me so much. I think it came in a magazine or something, but I just kept seeing it and ignoring it until, one day, I could ignore it no longer. Well, this was actually quite pleasant to use, as it has a strong melon scent and a nice thick texture. Plus, the anti-bacterial factor doesn’t hurt when you’re sweating as much as I am here in Malaysia. An unexpected win!
And that’s it for this week! If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you will know by now that my two huge boxes that I sea-shipped from Korea have finally arrived… and they are full of Korean cosmetics. I almost cried, I’m so excited! So expect looooots more reviews, raves and general rabbiting on about Korean cosmetics SOON! 🙂
