So we are back with another Sample Sundays, as promised, and today I am bringing you a mini review of a Missha product that I had never used before. To be honest, when I first arrived in Korea, Missha didn’t interest me too much. I thought the lights were a bit glary (they are), their target audience was a bit older more sophisticated than me (it is) and that the products weren’t necessarily that great… and this is where I failed. For you see, lovely reader, I have since discovered a number of products that I’m pretty keen on. My eyes have been opened! But…
There is something that I have been wanting to talk about for a while, and a full post on this is coming soon. Basically, as you know I’m trying to be more mindful of my spending habits, delcuttering and clearing out my life. Something that is really important to me – and that I haven’t really been acting in accordance with – is the ugly reality of animal testing for beauty products. I am really against it, and except for a number of on-then-off attempts over the years, I have recently been turning a blind eye to it. Until now! From now on, I’m only going to be buying cosmetics from companies that are against animal testing. Of course, I have an enormous backlog of products to use up, and I intend to, but I will be calling them out on their animal testing policies and if they fall on the wrong side of the line, I won’t be repurchasing them. No matter how much it hurts!
But for now, onto today’s review…
This Missha Super Aqua Oxygen Micro Visible Deep Cleanser is rather unusual, in that it is super foamy. When I first opened the sachet (I had two to try), what hit me first was how thick this is. It really feels like you’re putting shaving foam on your face, which isn’t necessarily bad per se, but it is a little bit different. It lathers up really quickly, but washes off easily.
As far as cleansers go, I wouldn’t say that this is my favourite, purely because it’s a bit odd and I didn’t particularly love the feel of a cleansing foam. To be fair, at the moment I am finishing up The Rich Snow Foam, which is a similar product but the foam seems less dense somehow. I think foaming cleansers are particularly good for oilier skins, as they don’t really provide much moisture and they do leave you feeling super clean. However, since I’m really big on giving my skin the moisture it needs (and as my skin isn’t as difficult and prone to oiliness as it used to be), I don’t think this is the one for me. Sorry, Missha!
(I know this is a bit of an express review, but this one just didn’t do too much for me. Them’s the breaks sometimes!)
Next week’s Sample Sundays will feature Holika Holika’s Good Cera All-in-One Master! I received this in the Beauty Bag from the pop-up shop I went to in Seoul, and I am a big fan of the Holika Holika Good Cera Super Cream. I’m excited to try this so I’ll let y’all know!

Did you let it foam bubbles on your face? When I started using this (also a sample) I didnt check the instructions so I applied it onto a moist face, but when I read it and put it on my dry face it bubbled like crazy! It was pretty awesome 😀 Also that is one of the few Asian foam cleansers that has a decent PH. So yeah I like it quite a bit!
