My Plans for 2014

Hi friends,

Can you believe we are in February already? Crazy! This weekend has been Lunar New Year here in Korea (also known as Chinese New Year) and so I feel it is still an appropriate time to list my New Year’s Resolutions. They may be a bit delayed in Western time, but in this country I’m right on time!

So what am I hoping to get done this year?

I have decided to cut these down to quarterly goals to hopefully alleviate some of the stress I place on myself. I love having goals but as Gavin says, it is important to make them realistic and achievable, and also only for the short term. That way, you can constantly check on your progress and keep revising them and moving forward.

So, my plans for the first quarter of 2014 are as follows:

  • Post at least 4 times a week on here πŸ™‚
  • Get my candles business fully automated
  • Guest post on other blogs regularly
  • Commit to pilates classes 3 times a week (very important!)
  • Read one book a month
  • Go to Korean lessons once a week & listen to lessons online
  • Volunteer at a charity (I’m thinking an animal shelter)

Phew! That’s a lot to do but at the same time they are also achievable. Plus, I like setting the bar high – it gives me something to strive for!

I will be checking in on the 1st of April to see how I’ve gone. That’s the good thing about making these public, now I actually really have to stick to them!

What are your plans for New Year’s? I hope you all had a great January, and Happy Lunar New Year! πŸ™‚

  1. Oh please guest post on my blog!! I’m so lazy. It’s horrific.

My goals sound a lot like yours, minus the candle business. And volunteering :/ And updating my blog 4 times a week seems daunting. Pilates… I’m so tired after work. I think I can read one book a month though. Wow. Lazy was an understatement.

    1. Haha well it’s easy to make these goals, let’s see if I stick to them! Time will tell… πŸ™‚ And yes I would absolutely love to guest post on your blog! Do you have anything particular that you’d like? Otherwise I can have a think and send something through (something Korean-y and travel-y of course). Thanks again for commenting Lisa πŸ™‚

      1. OOoo thank you, thank you!! I trust you to come up with something stellar on your own πŸ™‚ You have complete creative control! Something Korean-y, something travel-y, something beauty-…y. (?), anything! I like your humour. I’m looking forward to reading whatever you come up with.

P.S. Your deadline is in 2 hours (Korean-style, right?)

      2. Aww thanks for your kind words! I’ll be in contact soon, so excited (and possibly pushing deadline hehe) πŸ™‚ My mind is already buzzing with ideas. And yes, in true Korean style it may be a mad rush behind the scenes but it will all look perfect in the end. Speak soon! x

      3. Great! When you’re ready just send it to lisavabroad@gmail.com. Whenever. Next week, next month, next year. I don’t believe in deadlines. The Koreans just HATE me. But then forgive me because of my small face. Anyhoo, κ°μ‚¬ν•©λ‹ˆλ‹€^^

    1. Aww no probs! I found you last night and just had to follow you hehe. Yes I’m a little bit obsessed. .. and proud! πŸ˜‰ thanks for your comment, looking forward to reading more of your posts too πŸ™‚
